All around the world, there are countless churches, synagogues, mosques, and various temples. These are sacred places where you go to meet, to learn and to study God. I actually have no problem with this most ancient of practices. Anything that is positive, is good in my eyes.
But, I do have one extremely important point to make. Though going to these various houses of worship is a good thing; the first real temple of God is not, or has never been a building such as a mosque, synagogue, or church. God from the beginning has used man and woman as his living temples. You and I are the true temples of God, though you may be Christian, Muslim, Jew, Hindu, Zoroaster, or Buddhist. Forgive me if I did not mention your religion-you too.
Since we live in America, let's use the bible to see if my thinking on this subject is valid.
"Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood" (Peter Chapter 2 verse 5)
"Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are." (Corinthians Chapter 3 Verse 16-17)
"What? Know that ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?" (Corinthians Chapter 6 verse 19)
I believe the understanding and embracing of this most important truth could change the fabric of our society (and the world for that matter). Know that the very place that God resides, is in you. We can evolve and revolve from a society where only a few prosper, while the rest grind out an existence, to a society where getting your slice of Heaven is the way of life.
God gave all a life that we may live.
Isn't it strange that when you spell live backwards you spell evil?
Know that you are very important to God; you would not be here if you were not a special temple of God.
